Sisterhood Flower Fund for the High Holy Days Naomi Smith & Lynne Westberry
We return again to Parker Playhouse for our High Holy Days services. Flowers and greenery help turn the bare stage into a special and sacred place. Each year, Sisterhood undertakes this project, but it is only possible through your financial support of the Flower Fund.
You can participate by making a contribution to the Flower Fund. You can make the gift in honor of, or in memory of, any of your loved ones. The donors and their tributes will be published in a booklet that is distributed at the High Holy Days services.
Click here for the dedication form. Please take a moment to fill in the form and return it to the Temple office with your check. An early response is appreciated. The deadline to ensure inclusion of your tribute in the Flower Fund booklet is September 19th.
If you have any questions, please call Naomi at 954-630-9690, extension 10, Lynne at 954-298-0288 or Ellen at the Temple office (954-928-0410).
Thanks for your support!
***** Youth Group Susan Glazer, Youth Group Advisor
Temple Bat Yam's Youth Group begins activities with the start of the 2008-2009 school year. All parents of teens in grades 8-12 are invited to strongly encourage their sons and daughters to affiliate with Youth Group. Our organization offers programs monthly that encompass social action, religious, cultural and "strictly social" activities. Registration forms will be sent later this month to all students in grades 8-12. Dues are $36 per year, and a portion of that fee goes to NFTY Southern Tropical (NFTY-STR), our regional organization. NFTY-STR offers regional events, which allow teens to meet their peers at wonderful programming such as Fall and Spring Kallah, Winter Regional, Camp Jenny (a special camp at Camp Coleman in Georgia, staffed by teens, for underprivileged children), LLTI (a leadership training weekend), and this year, the NFTY National Convention in Washington, DC. It has been several years since Temple Bat Yam Youth Group has sent representatives to any of these events. Let this be a year where we encourage our teens to reach out and try the NFTY experience at a kallah or convention. The programming is excellent, and the memories last for a lifetime! For more information, please contact Susan Glazer at 954-968-5135, or by e-mail at susan30855@bellsouth.net. As you organize your calendars for the new school year, please mark the following - and encourage your teens to attend: Fall Kallah - October 17-19 - Temple Judea, West Palm Beach Winter Regional - December 26-30 - To be decided NFTY North American convention - February 13-17, 2009 - Washington, DC Spring Kallah - March 20-22, 2009 - Temple Beth Shalom, Miami Beach LLTI - April 24-26 - Temple Judea, Coral Gables Camp Jenny - May 21-25 - Camp Coleman, Cleveland, GA
