Ritual Committee

Temple Bat Yam has a vital and active Ritual Committee composed of members who work closely with Rabbi Littman and Cantor Autenrieth to promote the values of Reform Judaism and find new ways to meet the needs of our Congregation.

The Ritual Committee has established on-going activities including:

Havdalah services – a simple but moving ceremony marking the end of Shabbat followed by a sing-along.  We hold these events both at the beach and on our lovely patio.

Minyan Community Group – Caring members of Temple Bat Yam have committed themselves to assuring that any member of the congregation who wishes to have a service at home while in mourning will have friends from their Temple Family available to form a Minyan.

Usher Program – Worshippers are greeted each Friday night as they enter the Sanctuary with a friendly welcoming  “Shabbat Shalom”.

Ritual Committee members also assist in services when needed, help with Holiday and Festival preparations, and take an active role in religious Congregational activities.   Each year we institute innovative and meaningful activities that conform to the Reform Judaism commitment of worship in our 21st Century.
